Have Courage!

Image
Have courage, soul of mine, The path that you must keep Is long and lone and steep; But many thousand feet Have passed this way before; All through the v anished years These stones were wet with tears. If others knew this road And bore their heavy load; If others went this way, You, too, can bear the heat, And burden of the day; You, too, can bear dark night Until the morning light. If others passed this way Have courage, soul of mine! - unknown

Keep at your work

Keep at your work.  Do not flinch because the lion roars;  do not stop to stone the devil's dogs;  ...

The Bible also assures us that if we remain true to Him and fight the good fight of faith, we will receive a special reward in heaven.     After the Crimean War, a great celebration was held in London to honor the heroes wounded in battle. Queen Victoria was present to give out the medals. Some of the soldiers appeared with empty sleeves, some came on crutches, and some had bandaged foreheads. To each she gave the same sweet smile and the same high award. At last, a terribly maimed soldier was brought before the Queen on a litter. His arms and legs were gone. He had sacrificed even more than the rest. At the sight of him the Queen, with tears streaming down her cheeks, stepped forward and pinned a medal on his...

Don’t Quit

When things go wrong as they sometimes will,         When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,         When the funds are low and the debts are high,         And you want to smile but you have to sigh,         When care is pressing you down a bit,         Rest if you must, but don’t quit.         Life is strange with its twists and turns,         As every one of us at some time learns,         And many a failure turns about,         When he might have won had he stuck it out.         Don’t give up though the pace seems slow,         You may succee...
