“We will not have this man to reign over us”  Luke 9:14              This is the world’s attitude toward Jesus Christ. Doing His will is the farthest thing from the mind of worldlings. His name is only a swear word to them, said in frustration or anger. They reject Christ's authority, but they WILL have a man reign over them.  Revelation 13 tells us about this awful person, the devil’s man, the beast. 2 Thessalonians 2:3 calls him "the man of sin, the son of perdition." "And all the world wondered after the beast...and they worshipped the beast" (Rev. 13:3-4). The coming dictator will be the culmination and the end of the world system, its politics, religion, culture and society.   GIVE ME A MAN   by Matthew J. Brescia    We ask our readers to turn with us to the following Scriptures and to consider them in relation to the Lord Jesus Christ as God's Blessed Man. In 1 Samuel 1:11 we find the godly Hannah praying that God would give her, for Israel's sake, a MAN TO RESTORE. In the same book, chapter 16:17, Saul said to his servants, "Provide me a man" a MAN TO REFRESH. In chapter 17: 10 the giant Goliath, a type of Satanic pride, boldly challenges "give me a man that we may fight together," a MAN FOR REVENGE. Again in chapter 13:14 Samuel tells Saul that the Lord has sought Him a "man after His own heart to be captain over His people," a MAN TO REIGN. Finally in 1 Kings 8:25, we come to the words of wise King Solomon who, as the son of David and a type of Christ in His glorious reign, is a MAN OF REST.
