More NASA Foolishness

OSIRIS-REx they're calling it, supposedly a mere technical acronym. It is a mission to travel to the asteroid Bennu, map it, take a sample, and return to Earth, so that they can analyze the sample and learn what part asteroids played in bringing the building blocks of life to Earth.

     This is stupid for several reasons. First of all, we can tell you with total confidence that asteroids had nothing, absolutely nothing to do with life on Earth. There were no building blocks. Stop passing off theories as facts!!

    "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth" (Genesis 1:1). All anyone has to do is read the first 3 chapters of the Bible and he will know the answers to all kinds of questions that people pose today. No need for philosophy. No need for "discovery" missions to "unlock the secrets of Earth's origins", etc. God was there in the beginning. He did it, and He tells us about it in His book. Instead of spending astronomical amounts of money on missions like this, they ought to purchase Bibles and give one to every person on earth! Then all mankind would know the truth about the origin of the universe and life on earth.

    But mankind has degenerated so far from its intelligent beginning that it doesn't even know the basics anymore. The first chapter of the book of Romans describes the sad history of our degeneration into the darkness of ignorance, foolishness and sin. Romans 1:19-22,   "Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. or the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools."

    The knowledge of God and His creation wisdom and power has been lost by rejection and turning away. Vain imaginations (philosophy and legend) replace what was once clearly known and understood. Now the blind lead the blind, and all are headed for doom.

    But to add further insult, NASA names its mission OSIRIS-REx, which to the uneducated and foolish means nothing, but don't think for a minute that they don't know what they're saying.  Here is a quote from NASA's website about the mission acronym:

"The mythology of the Egyptian god Osiris loosely parallels the OSIRIS-REx mission. Osiris, in his original form, was believed to have spread an understanding of agriculture throughout the Nile Delta, hence bringing life to the ancient world. Likewise, OSIRIS-REx seeks to return samples of an asteroid that may contain organics that led to the origin of life on Earth.  Osiris also had a dual role as the god of the Underworld, which mirrors the destruction that large asteroid impacts have created."

Osiris, Isis and Horus

In the ancient Egyptian religion, invented by men that rejected the true God (as cited in Romans 1), the god Osiris and the goddess Isis had a son named Horus. Osiris was the god of the afterlife, the underworld, and the dead, but more appropriately as the god of transition, resurrection, and regeneration. He was considered the son of the Sun-god Ra. 

     Rex is Latin for king, and was the title for the Roman rulers. So "Osiris king" or "Orisis is king" is the title of yet another of NASA's   missions that deliberately ignore and reject the God-given message concerning the origin of the Earth and the Universe. If you continue reading Romans 1, beyond verse 20, you will see how this rejection led to a descent into darkness of idolatry and perversion .
Romans 1:21-25  "Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.  Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:  Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen."

Save your (OUR) money, we already know the origin of the universe, earth, life on earth and mankind. If the purpose of exploration was to further the knowledge of the greatness of God's power, wisdom and glory (Psalm 19) by studying His creation, that would be applaudable. But NASA is on a continuing mission to ignore and deny the one true living God. He is not to be known through spacecraft but through His Word, the Bible. But they have chosen vain reasoning and foolishness instead of the knowledge of God. Osiris is not king. Long ago the true God judged the false gods of Egypt (Exodus 12:12; Jeremiah 43:12) and those who honored them. Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
